audrey's story

Mover, choreographer, and artist Audrey Webb is always seeking the new and exciting in her movement practices. Audrey grew up studying traditional ballet and modern styles and began her studies of contemporary dance practices at the University of Florida (UF) in 2020. As a BFA Dance Major and Theatre Minor at UF, she trained under Alex Springer, Xan Burley, Elizabeth Johnson, Trent D. Williams, Jr., Andrew Cao, Isa Garcia-Rose, and other notable artists. While at UF Audrey has performed in various student and faculty works. Most notably, Audrey worked with student organization Dance in a Suitcase’s guest artist Crystal Edwards in restaging her work Blueprint for the spring 2022 show nine. She recently performed in a restaging of Anna Teresa de Keersmaeker's "Re:Rosas" under Alex Springer’s direction and with Xan Burley in her new work "THAT'S LOVE / NO MORE" in Spring Into Dance 2024.

For her third-year spring semester, Audrey was based in NYC with Florida State University’s Arts in NYC program. She was immersed in NYC dance culture and worked as an Arts Administration intern at the José Limón Dance Foundation. Audrey performed her FSU capstone project "holding hands" on April 29th, 2023 at the Center for Performance Research in Brooklyn.

Her senior thesis work “the staring contest” premiered in February 2024 at the University of Florida’s annual BFA Showcase. This work centered around improvisation, intentional presence, and collaboration with her 5 amazing dancers. She graduated from UF in May with High Honors and is spending the summer of 2024 as a Philanthropy Intern with Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. She is excited to enter the professional dance world with passion and joy.
